| Version | Released | Type | License |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.7.4 | 2010-03-01 | Extensions | Donationware (?) |
This extension-/module-combination is intended for tagging weblog entries.
Simple as in basic.
There really are no bells & whistles or shiny interfaces. Any custom field can be designated as a field containing comma-separated tags. When posting, updating or deleting an entry the tagging database table is updated accordingly.
If you happen to already have such a field, e.g. used for <meta name=“keywords”> or the like, you can also re-index all your existing entries without the need to update them bit by bit.
Tags as in informally assigning relevant keywords or phrases to entries and being able to use this information to access them.
This version only supports tagging by the authors, not by your visitors. Currently there are no plans to change this.
Features:
- Tag weblog entries
- Retrieve weblog entries based on their tag(s)
- Tagcloud
- Related tags
- Related entries (that have x number of tags in common)
- Recently used tags
- AJAX auto-suggest when entering tags (Control Panel and SAEF)
- Any custom field with comma-separated keywords can become a tagging field
- thus Tags may be searchable with EE’‘s built-in search
- the data remains even if you uninstall the module
- existing data can easily be adopted without manual re-tagging of older entries
- importing entries from other sources works with normal import utilities
Most of the features can be seen in action in the weblog on this site.
Donationware means you may use this addon in as many installations as you like. You are not required to pay anything for it, I would however appreciate a small donation if you like the addon and continue to use it. The amount is totally up to you.

It is the number of entries processed per turn when you are manually re-tagging entries.
Any value that does not result in PHP timing out is fine.

Hello,
What does the value in the “batch size:” field of the control panel mean?
What value should this be set to?

@Paul: Should you be willing to beta-test a new version, drop me a mail at silence(at)silenz.org

No. There are actually no javascript errors occuring at all.
The AJAX request that queries for tag-suggestions returns with status 0 although when manally calling the URL in your browser it returns a 200 as expected.
After some tests I think Fieldframe seems not to be involved in this phenomenon.

do you both mean the “setFieldName is not defined”-error. i had this one too.
this happend to me, because i removed all formatting-buttons in Weblog-Management › Standard-HTML-Buttons
if you do this the corresponding scripts (setFieldName-Function) were also removed.
i added one button and disabled all the buttons in the weblog-prefs.
if you mean an other error, i can’t help you although i also use Fieldframe

i also wanted to say thanks for all this great addons. or me, as a beginner with ee, it’s gold!

Then that’s a common factor. Maybe there’s some conflict. I’ll keep looking.

yes, we are using field frame

Im still investigating about the auto-suggest. I have now one instance where it doesn’t work myself, but the reason is still unclear.
Are you using FieldFrame by chance?

Ok. Thanks. For now, I’ll omit the tag words until the post goes to an open status.
I also get an Ajax error whenever I try to enter anything into the tag words. The auto-suggest was nice, but not critical, so I turned it off, just thought you’d like to know.
Thanks, for the quick reply.
